Where it began
I was introduced to Reiki at the age of 17. I had always been open to alternative ways of healing from a very young age. During a trip to Oria, Spain where I stayed in the mountains, I received an amazing treatment of Reiki which really sparked my curiosity and desire to learn more. I felt completely aligned and experienced a sense of clarity that I had never felt before. This wonderful feeling stayed with me for days after the treatment and it was a turning point in my life. I then began to have regular treatments, and took my Reiki first degree.
The dark times
In 2012 I became very ill during pregnancy, and suffered a full pubic dis-location during child birth which left me in a wheelchair and unable to walk unaided for 18 months. I also experienced post-natal depression and visited some very dark places. During my recovery I turned to Reiki again and gained my second degree. I treated myself daily with Reiki and found a new sense of inner strength and calm which helped me greatly. In February 2021 I took the final step and became a Reiki Master, vowing to live by the Reiki principles and disciplines within my own life.
Finding sound therapy
I discovered sound therapy in August 2018. My health (physical and mental) was still suffering due to the full pubic dislocation and the ongoing recovery from post-natal depression. My son had also been assessed for autism and diagnosed with Sensory Processing Disorder, and I was struggling to manage his symptoms and behaviour. My relationship had broken down amongst all of this and I was at a very low point.
I was attending a retreat when I found the tuning forks and I immediately felt they calmed me. I began to practice on myself daily. I started to feel healthier physically, with less pain and more energy. My moods improved. I was happier, and my relationships began to feel more fulfilling. I started using them on my son, and his symptoms started to improve…… I was utterly astounded by how much my life changed from using the sounds.
I fell in love with the sounds and immersed myself in learning more. I have trained and qualified as a tuning fork sound therapist. I have attended workshops and learnt more about crystal bowls, Tibetan bowls, Gongs, voice and mantra and how all can be used as effective healing modalities.
